About
Hi, I’m Emi
a performer, creative, project manager, BSL student, EC Victorianist and sumo nerd
I’m a UK-based Italian-Japanese actor, all-round creative, spreadsheet-loving project manager, BSL (British Sign Language) student, early career Victorian scholar, and professional sumo nerd.
I grew up between Japan and Italy, until I moved to the UK for my A-Levels and went on to train at East 15 Acting School.
After graduating, I was the co-director of a devised political theatre company and wrote, composed and directed a musical about time travel.
Alongside the performing and writing, I’ve been working for ten years project managing and coordinating in the art world - and because I really really love school, I went back to Uni and now hold an MA in Victorian Studies from Birkbeck, University of London, and took a few steps in Victorianist academia.
I have a creativity-themed YouTube channel, where I found there’s an audience for Victorian nerdiness combined with crafting - to this day, my most-viewed video is about Victorian crochet (over 155k views as I’m writing this!)
In the past few years, I finally formalised a 20-year interest in sign language and I’m now the proud holder of a Level 2 (soon Level 3 if all goes well, just waiting on one exam result) BSL qualification.
And most recently, while writing a solo show about my love for sumo, I somehow managed to turn my sumo nerdiness into a job, when I landed a gig commentating live sumo matches is London in summer 2026!
Thank you for visiting my site and don’t hesitate to get in touch :)
