Embracing the creative life on YouTube

Screenshot of the top of my YouTube page reading "Emi's Life Bingo", showing 5.62k subscribers, and a collage of crafting activities. The beginning of the blurb is visible, "Overthinker embracing joyously human and imperfect creativity".

We're meant to be creative, just for the joy of it, but we keep being told to be efficient and productive. I made a YouTube channel to encourage others (and myself!) to get unstuck and let ourselves be joyously, imperfectly human, creating with no particular goal in mind. As of March 2026, there are 5,620 of us, which blows my mind!

The name of the channel is a play on the phrase “career ladder”—I always say that instead of doing a ladder I’m doing “bingo”, trying lots of different things out instead of choosing just one and going all in in one direction. Is it wise? To be honest, I don’t think my life purpose is to be wise!

Here’s my most popular (and luckily, definitely one of my best and the one I’m proudest of!) video so far, sitting at 154,257 views (!!!!! what the heck!!!!!)
